Me again. Very, very special show today. My much anticipated, long-awaited “Best of 2013″ show has finally arrived. Good news, bad news. I was unable to squeeze the show into the normal time constraints, so the show will be extended an extra hour to accept this overstuffed sofa of a show. At least it won’t smell like an old sofa, because this is the internet. You can’t stream smell. Yet. Thank goodness.
First, some back story. This is by no means supposed to be some all inclusive, objective “Best Of”. Heavens no. This is the best stuff to catch my eyes, er, ears in 2013. And, actually I almost included a couple of albums released late in 2012. But I didn’t, since the real 2013 releases came out to be a whopping 35 hours. Yikes. I have spent more hours working on this show than any 3 together. I definitely had some hard choices. So… no live music. I had some pretty cool live albums, but had to cut them. Also, no releases of previously recorded music. So, even though Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix released old concerts, they didn’t make the cut. Plus, there were some new albums that frankly didn’t deserve to be on the playlist. Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton both released new albums in 2013. You won’t hear them here. I made a long list of artists that didn’t make the cut that I will read online… if you’re interested. Heck, even if you’re not. What you will hear is between 2-7 tracks by 19 different artists that released music in 2013. Think about it… 35 hours distilled down to 5. La creme de la creme. Enjoy.
Anyway, same bat time, same bat channel. Right here at xStream-radio on your internet dial. Radio in the Extreme. 6:00pm CST, 4:00pm PST, and 7:00pm EST. Here’s the link:
